Help with [mecanim]: BindSkeleton: cannot find Transform...

Hi All, I just upgraded to Unity4 and am trying to continue on with a project I have been working on.

Problem is Mecanim is generating 100's of alerts per frame that say:

[mecanim]: BlindSkeleton: cannot find Transform 'Ruins'

This is especially frustrating because it's killed my ability to get feedback in the console window because I can no longer scan it to find specific events.

the "Log in file" (at the bottom of console window) is called from a file I dont see C:/BuildAgent/work/big number letter combo/Runtime/Animation/Animator.ccp at line 1256

Any help would be greatly appreciated (while I still have some hair left) Jinda

Hello There, I found something, it might not be the most ethical solution to the problem but it cleared mine up. Look at the original FBX import of the object in your assets folder. Look under the new "RIG" tab at the top of the inspector. In the "ANIMATION TYPE" drop down, choose "NONE" and then apply.

The error occurred probably becaue you renamed an object after importing.

Also, I wanna know do you have "COLLAPSE" check in your console. It suppresses repeating message into 1 line and tells you how many times its call over on the right. This should make scanning for events easier for you. Hope this works!

Doesn't work for me. Also, "collapsing" the comments doesn't solve the problem. Especially when I require the comments to not be collapsed!

You can't destruct your animated object's hierarchy once you've animated it. Sounds like the animation is looking for a transform which has been either removed or moved from its proper place in the hierarchy. The animations use transform names to animate, and they catastrophically fail if any are missing.

Thanks $$anonymous$$rSteve, I was getting these types of errors when I didn't want any avatar or any animation imported with my model from Blender. It is just a static model. Thanks so much for telling me how to get rid of them by changing RIG to none.
