Terrain texture looks really blurry

So recently I created a new terrain in my Unity Scene and when I add a texture to it, it looks really blurry. The texture is supposed to be 1024X1024 but it looks completely low quality. I know other people had the same problem, but i haven't solved it yet.

Try zoo$$anonymous$$g in toward the first person controller. $$anonymous$$aybe the view is far enough away that you're seeing the basemap.

Can you post the example source image and a screen shot of your material settings, shader settings, and custom shader code if any? Also it might provide some clues to post a screenshot, in editor, of this terrain after you hit the 'f' key (with mouse over editor scene view) with your controller selected.

First thing I'd do is go to the texture in the Unity project view and check the import settings. Make sure Max Size is set to 1024 or above.

I think i have the same problem ... i tried all import settings i could textures never change no matter what i set in import.alt text

but when i turn on mipmap view in upper left corner dropdown i can see textures displaying properly.

been wasting days on this ...can't find whats causing the problem...

inside the terrain go to settings and change the base map distance to 0. Inside the quality settings set the quality to max, go to your texture and change resolution, set to BiLinear, if none worked delete the TerrainAssets folder(or whatever texture pack ur using) and reimport it

You might want to check if you've a material applied to the terrain. In my case, if I have no material set, it gives clean, crisp textures, but I can't get it to do similarly with a material set (I really want a shiny feel to my terrain).

I have had the same problem. Just check if there is strange shader in your project.

For example:
SnowMan/0000 terrain snow/atsV3 UnityTerrainSnow Package/Shaders/Terrain/TerrainReplacementAtsV3Snow.shader

My terrain is OK after I deleted this one.
