Question by shmomo · Jan 07, 2013 at 08:50 PM · webplayerlag

Game lags in webplayer but not in standalone??

Problem: My game plays 100% smoothly in the standalone player, but in the webplayer it lags a lot.

Info: I have done many tests and optimised the game to the max.

Conclusion: my conclusion is that it is the fps cap the browser is enforcing on the webplayer plug in.

Question: But if the web player lag is caused by browser fps cap, how do the Blurst games run super smooth with no lag?

I would really appreciate any ideas, I have spent a lot of time on this and im a bit stuck. Thanks,

J

  1. Your internet is slow it is the internet because it takes time to load things and it depends on your IE speed and your computer speed so pretty much everything is fine it just depends on those thing

What... your internet speed will only affect the speed at which the webplayer will load, it will not affect the speed it plays.

Running locally it is the same, so not net speed.

Im thinking it is something to do with the browsers fps cap & the vsync. Its as though it is dropping a few frames here and there and then trying to catch up. I have a linear side scrolling infinite runner movement.

Whats is causing lag / stutter in webplayer that is not present in the standalone player?
