Build a game from Illegal Unity

Sorry, maybe my question is disturbing. So my friend has an illegal copy of Unity (something like crack). i told him to not sell the game if you build your game from your illegal copy of Unity. But my friend said "i dont sell the game,,, its completely free, But i just asking some donation for me"... So Unity i just want to know,

Is my friend doing right ?

sorry for my bad english or anything else. Thanks

He is wrong. Don't pirate. Use the free version of Unity, if you can't afford the Pro version.

Of course he is doing wrong. If your "friend" s$$anonymous$$ls a car, but does not sell it to anyone, he's still stolen a car. The offence has nothing to do with making money. You may care to tell your "friend" to use free, and then he's completely legit.
