Unity wont recognize High Definition Models from blender

My friends been working on a model that is now a 120mb .blend file, when he tries to import it to blender it goes not responding and doesn't do anything. CPU Usage spikes to max and it just sits there. I attempted to move the model to the assets folder manually and there was no model there. This is really annoying me and I don't know how else to do it.
