unity 4 mecanim - fbx humanoid mapping error

Dear All, I import an .fbx from 3ds max to unity 4 and want to create an animator controller to controll many animations . I want to use mecanim system of unity 4 but I meet the error when mapping my character .fbx.

Is it come from 3ds max .fbx file when importing to unity ? How can I fix it . I'm just a normal using Unity and don't know 3ds max .

Can anybody here give me a sign to fix it in 3ds max ?

Thanks for reading.

If you just click on the Swap UVs checkbox in the Unity inspector it may solve your problem.

Tell me more about this error, maybe it's a problem on the 3Ds max exporter.

1.$$anonymous$$y character has 4 legs . I choose Rig tab and choose Humanoid for Animation Type and go to configuration avatar and then recognize that my character can stand by 2 legs @.@ and the bone's structure is like a mess .

I think maybe humanoid just be used for character look like human ( 2 legs and 2 hands ) . Is it right ?

2.Then I choose another character which has 2 legs like human , Animation Type = Humanoid , configuration avatar is unsuccessful and in Unity inspector say error and the left leg mapping is red. So I change Animation Type = Generic and add 2 animations to Animator Layer , make a transition between them then I run my scenes the animations are working but console log says error : !IsFinite(outDistanceForSort)

!IsFinite(outDistanceAlongView)

!IsFinite(outDistanceForSort) UnityEditor.DockArea:OnGUI()

!IsFinite(outDistanceAlongView) UnityEditor.DockArea:OnGUI()

Yes, if you want to re-target an animation for another character it has to be humanoid. About that red leg, there's a bone on a wrong position of the hierarchy, and about this error, it's just an unity interface problem, if the animation is running well it's just fine.
