Strumpy shaders... Y U NO dynamic batch ??

I really like Strumpy Shader Editor, even though it seems to be an abandoned project.

But I can't make a shader with it- even a very simple one, even one that exactly duplicates the behavior of a built-in shader, that will batch draw calls. Whereas even some of the more fancy built in shaders ( like "transparent parallax specular") batch just fine- so it's not just that I'm making too complicated shaders, it's something wrong with the code it generates.

Can anyone else make a batchable shader with SSE? What settings do you have to set to get it to work? One draw call per object is not going to fly.
