Blurred Textures

Im making this terrain in unity , i have searched the forums , and it seems that others have come across this problem with no apparent solutions to fix it.

I have tried everything proposed in replies to similar posts to this one and nothing works. I am new to unity using unity pro , and this problem is getting very annoying ...

Whenever i make a terrain in unity there is a problem with textures appearing blurred Streched or something , i think i have tryed every single possible import setting there is and nothing works , tryed every anisotropic level , advance settings , resolution , Unchecked generate mip map ,wrap mode / filter mode ............... Every combination possible ..... tried terrain > Set resolution options , nothing works with render / project settings.. tried every possible tile setting that exists in the universe and beyond still ugly looking... Always Blurry textures.

Only way i saw the right textures showing is when i put mipmap in the dropdown next to the toggle built in lightning wich is RBG in default...alt text

please someone HELP ! i cant believe im having such a hard time with a simple texture in unity , how can this be :(

Ok i make a texture in PhotoShop 512 x 512 16 bit RGB, i save it in my texture assets folder then i go in import set it in advanced, only check generate mip map (since it tells me it needs it if i set import in only texture.. , box or kaiser , set size to 512, Format to RGB 16 bit ...

I get this ugly looking texture all washed out and blurred am i doing some thing wrong is it my graphics cards , im on quadro 5000 in sli , i dont get it. Is Unity totally busted in making terrain textures ? Are you all making terrain in another software ??? Is there a trick newbies should know into making a texture work on terrain ???

How is this not working ????????????????????????????

Hmm, is the max import size of the texture 512 or higher? And have you tried reducing the tile size of the texture on adding it to the terrain?

Have you tried creating a new project and see if you get the same result, have you tried a reinstall? What version are you using?

I created a new scene and tried making terrain there but i still had blurred textures played with the import settings nothing happened, when i went back to my original scenes all my textures were sharp and crisp as good as they could be. Only thing i can think of that made this happen is i integrated my textures on the terrain with the terrain toolkit then change the import settings but it didn't update as i was expecting it to.

I repeated the process of setting the right import settings for my textures before using them and now everything is working like a charm.

I had alot of textures in that were not imported properly so i guess it is really a matter of doing import settings before i implement them on terrain.

Thanks for the replies !!!!
