Colliders on a Humanoid Player.

Hey,

I have a little question. I currently have a First Person Controller with a Human Model. This Player has a Character Controller attached to it. The problem is now that I want the Hitbox to be more close to the Model. To achieve this I want to add basic colliders to the Bones of the Model to cover up the entire Model.

Now my question is: What do i do with the Character Controller? Do I remove it or should I just make it smaller?

Some of my scripts currently depend on the Controller but i think when i finally add the Colliders the references are obsolete anyways.

You'd (probably want to) keep the Controller, and add your hitzone collider(s) on a separate physics layer, then be sure that those colliders don't collide with your Controller, but do collide with whatever your damage sources are.

(Physics settings are in Edit > Project Settings > Physics)

This way you still have the ease-of-movement of the Controller but you can define your own hit regions much easier.
