Question by laurienash · Feb 20, 2013 at 11:05 PM · watermark

Can I upgrade to Unity pro during game development?

I'm currently working on a game using the free version, but I really don't want the watermark to show.

Can I upgrade to Unity Pro during its development so that I don't have the watermark showing, or would I have to start making the game again?

(or is there a way to hide the watermark on the free version?)

Sorry, I can't work out if this is a really obvious question,

Thanks, laurienvictoria

Leave plenty of extra time to fix weird upgrade bugs.

It will probably take 5 $$anonymous$$utes and work perfectly. But there's those 1% of crazy cases where you messed up, it looked fine in Free so you didn't notice, but Pro is now hating it.

That's usually the rule for all upgrades -- you are entering the unknown, so be ready.

There's not actually any upgrade. Pro is just a license, not a different app or anything.

That's kind of my point. Things that barely even count as a change, so "can't possibly cause problems," are what get people in trouble.

You can upgrade at any time, no worries.
