Unity3D 4.0 crashes on Startup - windows 7 on VMWare

Hi,

Unity3D crashes on startup on my windows 7 w$$anonymous$$ch is running on VMWare.

Did all the possible resolves that are stated in the forum, http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/10086/unity-crashes-on-startup.html

But i didnt uninstall the 'ghost devices' as i have more than 20 of them and not sure what they are used for.

I have 'Accelerated 3D' is enabled in my VMWare settings.

I have no project created yet in unity, still when i start unity up it ask me to upgrade the version. Strange! Its a freshly installed version of windows 7 and i checked DirectX11 is availableas well.

Can anyone please help me in fixing t$$anonymous$$s issue?
