Question by Fuileanbh · Mar 28, 2013 at 01:07 AM · importasset storeunitypackagedecompress

Why Am I having issues decompressing packages?

When I import a .unitypackage from the Asset store a couple of things happen. First, I get the "decompressing package" window with a progress bar. Once the progress bar fills, a large number of seemingly random windows open up on my screen and there is no sign of the supposed contents of the package in my editor? Please help.

Same issue here. At first I thought it was a virus, but then even downloading Unity on a brand new hard drive... same thing. I've tried downloading multiple packs from the store to end up having the same issue. Is there any answer to this???

FWIW Unity 5.0 RC2 (Unity 5.0 b20 might have had issues on my Mac) seems fine decompressing Asset Store packages. The progress bar doesn't move and it appears to "hang" for a minute or so, then it is OK.
