2D lighting

I need to have some splash screens.

If I make a plane hold a bitmap image, how do I deal with lighting? I want the full brightness of the image rendered, not lit with spotlights.

How is that done?

Cant you just give the material the Self Lit shader?

Create a material for your plane that uses a shader that does not use lighting. You can start with Unlit/Texture.
