Unity importing wierd Avatar file from Blender

Hi,

I am working on a static model in a blender file which I keep in the Unity Assets folder of a project to check how it looks in Unity once in while. I just noticed a sub-file named "Avatar" inside the Blender file list in Unity. It has the same name as the parent Blender file, "Tree_cut_upAvatar" except the word "Avatar" is appended to the end of the file name, "Tree_cut_up." Its icon looks like a little head-chest figure. Anybody know where this came from or how to get rid of it? I can't find anything in my Blender file that looks out of place. Thanks.

I think it has something to do with a default rigging model? But I'm not sure. I've seen it too and just ignored it so far but I'm curious what the answer is.

Glad I'm not the only one who has seen it. Thanks Hatshapedhat.

Hi,

I found the answer in another post by MrSteve1. All you have to do is go to the original FBX import in the inspector, click on RIG and change to "none." This gets rid of the avatar icon and also prevents "mecanim:Blind Skeleton" errors in the console window. Note. This advice is only for static models where you don't want a rig or animation.
