Orthographic Camera Size, World Scale and Physics

Hi there, I"m after some advice concerning world scale and orthographic camera size. I've setup an orthographic camera in my scene to be 320 (half of iphone 4 and 5 resolution) as discussed in numerous other threads. So this gives me a 1:1 mapping of in game units and pixels.

However, in doing this, it means that the scale of my objects in the game world are rather large - so my rigidbody characters are 50 units high and as such I'm noticing(what I believe) is the artefact you get in physics were everything feels in slow motion (according to the documentation because your game objects aren't a reasonable size). Assuming this is the issue , I'm just wondering how other people dealt with this - did you just resize your camera so you don't have the 1:1 mapping, but more realistic physics behaviour? I'm guessing this is the only solution....
