Question by Sleeper75 · May 13, 2013 at 03:27 AM · terrainrandom2.5d

How to generate random terrain like platforms for a 2.5D game.

Hey All, T$$anonymous$$s is my first question on the t$$anonymous$$s so here i go, I am developing a 2.5D game that requires the terrain (Platforms) to generate as you walk along to the left or right, or as an alternitive generate a infinite world that can only be seen by the player when he/she walks to the left/right before you join the game, a completly random world every time you make a new world, and it does not end on the right or left, some what like Terraria but with minecrafts limits. (Not having a end per say) No i am not making a minecraft / Terraria clone in ANY way, For the project i'm working on i just need somet$$anonymous$$ng like the way Terraria generates it's terrain, exept infinite and not little cubes. Heres a screenshot of what the basic terrain should look like exept maybe some sort of $$anonymous$$lls / trees ect: alt text Any help in the script / scripts would be Amazing. (Note i am still learning Java so when anwsering please try to be basic about it) :P Thanks

I only have a link for a tutorial in C# (sorry) : http://catlikecoding.com/unity/tutorials/runner/

You can still read it and maybe learn from the techniques used. If you learn to read uJS and C# then you can convert this yourself as well as read any C# script !

Here are some links I found useful in converting between C# and JS :
