Plane with diffused material with transparent texture. Transparency not showing?

Hello,

I am trying to make a animated "plane" object that has transparent texture attached to its material. I am using this script: animating tiled texture (the last one).

I do not think the problem is in the script itself, since the only thing it does is change the offset of the texture. Anyway, the animation works fine but the plane/material is not using the transparency of the texture.

Here is my texture, the core of the object is "white" so when i change the main color of the material the core changes color as well, and the sides are transparent: texture

However, this appears without the transparency on my unity project: the plane inside the unity gui

What am i doing wrong, why is not my transparency taken in account when visualizing the image?

Thanks in advance :)

Never mind, figured it out, apparently you have to actually select the transparent diffuse shader to have transparency in the material. Sorry for the clutter.
