Prefabs in Object Selector

Does anyone know of a way to have the Object Selector display prefabs containing a particular component?

For example, I can create a script called Weapon and put together a prefab called DefaultWeapon that contains that component. I can then create a script called Enemy which declares a public member of type Weapon. When I create an object of type Enemy and select it, the Inspector now shows a property with the value of "None (Weapon)". If I click on this a window comes up with the title of "Select Weapon", but no objects are shown to choose from.

I can go back to the Enemy script and change the type of the variable from Weapon to GameObject. Now if I click on that property in the Inspector I get a window saying Select GameObject. This window contains the DefaultWeapon prefab, but also every other asset available.

Is there a way to specify the type of object you must reference but then have the Object Selector actually display available assets of that type?

Create a variable of type GameObject, then use the search bar at the top of the Object Selector to find which asset you need. (You can reference the script component of the GameObject via GetComponent)
