Question by zealcore · May 25, 2013 at 08:52 PM · prefabs

My level is pink and I lost all prefab connections

Hi, while I was working on a game level my computer crashed. After loading Unity again my game level is now all pink and all my materials and prefabs lost connections to textures. My game objects lost connections to scripts. I have no backup.

Can I do anything to save my game or do I need to start over? I spent many hours on the game and now it seems it's all gone.

I dunno if it will work but you can try going to Assets/Reimport All

I did that but to no effect. :(

As you note, pink is just the "hey, I don' t have a proper material" color.

Oh, I think the links are gone forever (but easily relinked.) Links are all in "Save Scene." Unity tends to save Assets frequently, and only scene data when you switch away or quit (or, click on Save.)

You should wait for the next update. It's just a bug.

Can someone explain what this means? Does this mean that after the next version of Unity the level will come back, with all links? Or does it mean the new version of Unity will prevent your computer from ever crashing?

Or, since it's been Accepted, does this mean there are secret daily updates, which, in the day since the question was asked, did fix the level?
