Simple Circular jump along local normal- similar to planetary gravity

Hey guys,

I'm working on a simple scene that requires something similar to planetary gravity ie. the character are attracted to the center of a large sphere, but I don't need a fancy physically accurate gravity system (or any real gravity for that matter), i just need to make my character jump off the surface in the direction of the normals and land again.

After trying many things I've decided the best way is to just create an empty GameObject that I will use to rotate left and right around the planet with my character parented under, but cant seem to script a simple jump off the surface.

I have looked at a tonne of tutorials and forums on planetary gravity and such but cant seem to find what I'm after. Any help or something to get me started would be a real help, Cheers J
