Fire sparks particle

Hey guys, i want to make something like this but i don't know how to make the sparks. Do i need many sparks textures so they come out in random shapes? I can't find the texture.

Get a cigarette lighter or one of those birthday cake sparklers and take a photo (without flash) pref at night time so you get the sparks on black background. Then just Edit out the stick and make them appear for 1 or 2 frames as a particle using additive blending.

Edit:

Actually, I just spent a while trying to get the effect because I myself was interested in it. So just grab the package from here http://www.jamesheazlewood.com/sparks-download/ and tweak it to what you want.

I think a simple spark would be fine right? Then its all just the way they move.

I think the sparks move too fast for you to even need to animate them so all you'd need to do is have the particle run for a very short time at a random starting rotation. So

Start lifetime: 0.05 Start Rotation: (range) 0 - 360 Emission: Rate: 60 Size over lifetime: curve from small to large

Then create a material for the renderer which should be Particle/Additive and use something similar to http://us.123rf.com/400wm/400/400/serezniy/serezniy1201/serezniy120100084/11831533-beautiful-sparkler-on-black-background.jpg (this one is copyrighted though, which is why I suggested taking a photo)

I'd first edit it so it fades out to black in a circle to avoid seeing the square shape.

Hope that helps.

Had another look at your pic. To get the sparks co$$anonymous$$g out freely, follow the last few steps of this tutorial http://3dgep.com/?p=4313

Updated my answer with a download of a package I made with cool sparks. Enjoy (you or anyone else that comes across this.)

A good spark emitter is the flare prefab on the particle systems package.

This tutorial ROCKS for realistic sparkler particles.

It even comes with a pre-made prefab for easy insertion. His key to perfection is a "gifanim" style pulsating "core spark", which is a fast-switching billboard gameobject, and then a paired particle system which mimics the "flying sparks". Add "collisions with world" and they bounce off the walls and surfaces too. absolutely beautiful:

This one is much more detailed, with accompanying glowing smoke:
