Question by temptest123 · Jul 19, 2013 at 04:43 PM · physicsaudio

dynamic friction driven audio

I would like to use output of the physics engine to control some audio synthesis - in particular to create scratching sounds when an object slides over another. But how can I get such friction events? OnCollisionStay together witch checking relative velocity is not enough as the object may be rolling (static friction) which would cause different sounds than sliding (dynamic friction).

Any way to get such info out of the physics engine?

I found one way. I hope it solve same problems. 1-) Create a bool variable ( my variable is "isSoundPlay), 2 -) Where is your audioclip define and play (my audio where is Audioscript, UIAudioClipPLayMethod(string soundName), 3-) Create one Coroutine.

 private void OnTriggerEnter(Collider other)
     {
         if (other.CompareTag("Player"))
         {
             audioScripts.UIAudioClipPLayMethod("frictionMovement");

         }
          }

     private void OnTriggerStay(Collider other)
   {
         if (other.CompareTag("Player"))
         {
             if (!isSoundPlay)
             {

             StartCoroutine(FrictionSoundMaker())
     ;       IEnumerator FrictionSoundMaker()
                 {
                     audioScripts.UIAudioClipPLayMethod("frictionMovement");
                     isSoundPlay = true;
                     yield return new WaitForSeconds(.4f);

                     isSoundPlay = false;
                 }
             }
         }
   }
