# move object with parabola

I'm trying to figure out how to combine the script with math. What I wanted to achieve is the movement of an object on a parabola. I know the formula of the parabola y= (ax*ax)+bx+c , but how can I apply it to move an object?more as I can point b and c? tanks

If I had to move something along a parabola, I'd convert the equation into a parametric form. Then you can just calculate x and y based on some range of 't' values. Google "Parametric formula parabola" for more info.

But I expect there are easier ways to solve whatever problem you are trying to solve with this equation. If you describe the problem more fully, it likely someone on this list can give you alternate solutions.

Yea, if what you are trying to do is simulate something like jumping or shooting a projectile, then a Rigidbody is likely the way you want to go. If you don't want to use a Rigidbody for some reason, then the simulating the basic physics is pretty easy. In either case, I suggest that walking a parabola is not the way to go. Even using $$anonymous$$athf.Sin() would work better.
