Lens flares are disappearing when I come close to them, and sometimes when I look at them?

I am not sure what is happening, but when I come close to the lens flares they seem to disappear (it is not the placement either, I never moved the light). also when I am looking at it, it is there... but when it is at on the screen it disappears? when looking at it still?! Decided to ask the unity community since I have never encountered something like this in unity.
