Reading dynamically written XML file on iOS device

I'm trying to read data from one app to another on an iPad. I have one native program that I have set up to send data to an xml file it is creating and I'm wanting my Unity app to read from the same XML file on the same device.

I've set up the writing of the XML file on my native app fine and I know how to read from an XML file in Unity, however, I have no idea of the location of where an iOS device would save the XML file it is creating. So I can't tell my Unity app to read the file. Can someone please tell me where the XML file is located?

iOS is sandboxed, so one app has zero access to the data of another app.

I remember having read somewhere that it is indeed possible to share data between apps on iOS, provided they are from the same developer and, if memory serves, they are under the same app id hierarchy, com.company.app1 could share data with com.company.app2.

Don´t know how or where I read it even.

@Svenskefan - wow, I learn something everyday. Looks a bit complicated though. Thanks for sharing.
