Question by jjobby · Mar 28, 2011 at 11:33 AM · iphone

Does current iPhone support List<T> in C#?

I've searched about this question and get confused with the answer.

http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/14886/using-listt-count-on-unity-iphone

http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/39540-unity-iphone-can-t-support-list-lt-type-gt?highlight=Generic+List+iphone

http://forum.unity3d.com/threads/43575-iPhone-1.6-Generics-Support?highlight=Generic+List+iphone

Although they are quite old questions but they seem to say that iPhone doesn't support List. But the answer of this recently asked question actually suggests to use List on iPhone.

http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/48404/what-is-better-on-iphone-arraylist-or-listt

So, does the iPhone really support List or not? I mean on the real iPhone not just in editor or simulation. And if it doesn't then is ArrayList the only option to go?

It's been able to use List since 1.7 or so

3.0 has pretty much complete support for generic types

Looks like a no, just try a simple test, and if it works, than awesome, if not, than I'm sorry... But ArrayList seems to work...
