Question by Raine Andrews · Oct 07, 2013 at 08:15 PM · animationbugmayaskeleton

Scaling models and the grave animation disaster that follows!

alt text

I purchased the stone king character to mess around with unity without making my own asset,but it looks like it was done with Maya and it's scale is thusly 1/10 the correct scale. If I change the prefab's scale in import settings I get this:

How do I fix the animations?

I am so dumb. I spent all night on this, and I just found out animations can, and have to be the same scale as their model. This makes sense, but I guess I assumed the animation would scale up to its parent model ;. ;

The fix is: go into the import editor for the animations desired, and change the scale number to equal the models scale number (presumably only works if animation and model were made in the same program. I think this one is $$anonymous$$aya)

Looks like you need to scale all the pieces of the model separately, or just do it in editor for the gameobject.

If you get the model plus a single Take of all combined animations, things are fine. Hopefully the author has packaged it with the frame start/stops and obvious looping all set up.

If you get just the boned&skinned model, cow, then separate cow@walk, cow@eat ... animations below, those are the ones which need to have the same ImportScale as the model.
