Question by JeffreyD · Oct 19, 2013 at 10:44 AM · apppage

Can I redirect a mobile game app to a Sale page URL?

Can I / How do I call a URL from a mobile game app in order to redirect the too the URL page (i.e. Sales page)? Is this possible?

I've got Application.OpenURL("http://...."); working on a web player, but does it work on a Mobile device?

Also, How would I implement the "yield" and/or "WWW". Do I need to do these since the OpenURL opens a separate browser window? Thanks for your help.

Application.OpenURL() does work on mobile devices. And it opens up the default browser. If you want to show a page to the user, you'd use OpenURL(), but if you just want to fetch some data from a website or service, you'll need to use the WWW.

Hi $$anonymous$$. Thanks for this. Sorry for the delay getting back to you. I tried Application.OpenURL("http:www.myURL.com") and it does open the site in the same browser window as I'm running my game app. This is for building the game as a web build.

I've just tested it on the mobile device (Android) running via unity remote. It did not open a browser window on the device, but it did open one on the $$anonymous$$ac. I thought that was odd. Perhaps this only works when the application is actually running on the $$anonymous$$obile device. In this case and Android phone. I just got this Android $$anonymous$$ac interface running. I need to figure out how to built the game and load it to the phone. If you have any guidance with this it is appreciated. Thanks again for your help. Jeff
