Cheap Hosting?

Question

I have created a simple game in Unity which is basically just a shooter. I'm looking to expand the game hosting (Currently on the Free Photon Cloud) to a proper authoritative server for which I'd use SmartFox. However, when I do this I will need to consider hosting options and server rental because I can't host one at home at all.

The game has between 10 and 20 concurrent users at once so the server only has to have a tiny amount of resources. I just need a simple way to put a SmartFox server application on a remote machine and install extensions as needed.

I'd appreciate it if anyone who has a good idea for one of these servers links it below. I have a very low budget simply because I'm only starting to create this game and not much bandwidth or resources are required... Though I have no idea how much the server will specifically use. All I know is that a 2ghz server with 512mb of ram is easily enough to power this.

I use this company to host my website and voice chat server: http://www.hetzner.de/en/

Take a look at their vps-servers, they're quite cheap and probably excactly what you're looking for :)

I will look into it. Have you had experience with them? I've read some good reviews from them though they mention that some of it is written in German without translation, was that a big issue?

I've been a customer for about 2 years now and imo, hetzner is very good. They have always helped me out if I had problems and they always warn you when there is going to be downtime.

Now, for the German: All parts of the website also have an English version. Any messages they'll send you will also be in English

Check out Dreamhost. I've used them for YEARS. I'm pretty sure they have servers that allow you to do pretty much whatever you want - I only use mine for webhosting and some simple scripting. Let me know if you decide you like them I think I can get you a referral code for a discount.
