Texture Format "Truecolor" performance

Hi,

I noticed that my textures look awful in Compressed and 16 bit mode, so I ended up using Truecolor. Are there any performance drawbacks?

I have 20+ 2k sprite sheets and will add more.

My game should run on mobile devices as well.

I think it will only effetc the project size.

Dont really worry about this,modern GPU cards dont even feel the difference between 16 and 32 bit colors.

Well, is the resolution of your textures larger than 1024? If so, this can really be a problem, especially if you have multiple sprite sheets in camera view..

I've read about texture size, 2k is no problem for iPhone 4 and later. It's the compression that I'm worried about.

$$anonymous$$odern phones/tablets are having powerful GPUs capable of a lot much more than just decompression (think of shaders like bloom,realtime shadows,reflections). How about giving a few shots ? Try creating a benchmark out of your game.
