C# Networking - game design question

Hello guys,

I have a game that i'm making that is kinda like monopoly. I want to have the "board game" hosted and then players can join the game and be on the board.

My question is - Is photon cloud a good hosting service for a game of this design? If not, does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm leaning toward investigating photon cloud more.

photon is good, especially it has good support for unity3d. Photon cloud is really useful and they provide 10 players free support for testing purposes as well.

If you ever want to look for alternative, check SmartFox server it has good community to support and been there for long time, so you can expect lot of resources for that.

But if it is more like a monopoly, I wonder if u should spend money on cloud and dedicated server licenses. You can alter the unity's master server (they provide the source for free!!) and use it for creating something like lobby (which i believe is ur expectation!). Then you could use unity's networking to handle the game stuff!!. Well my suggestion is valid only if you dont have the need to save every game data to a database. Note that dedicated server(photon or similar ) will handle all game data in server side, where as using the unity's networking will lead situation where logic is handled in player's machine, resulting in a possibility for hacking of you game.
