character bounces on a box

hey everyone , so i have a character and a box, right ! , and i want the character to bounce whenever he lands on the top of a box , i tried several things including rigidbody , but it doesn't work with the character controller , please someone help me im sick of this , i suck at coding :( , thanks !

You can modify whatever script you use for driving the character controller to do a 'jump' when it detects a box hit in OnControllerColliderHit().
