Question by cmilian · Dec 27, 2013 at 08:43 AM · touchmouseclick

How to call an animation on object touch or click.

I am trying to get the character to fall down on touch or mouse click. How canI do this? I used this code, but its not working. Is this script correct?

var targethit : GameObject;

function Update() { checkForHit();

}

function checkForHit()

{

 var ray = Camera.current.ScreenPointToRay (Input.mousePosition);

 var hit : RaycastHit;

 if (Physics.Raycast (ray, hit, 200))

     {

         var objecthit:Transform = hit.transform as Transform;

         if (hit.collider.name == targethit)

         {

             animation.Play("hurt-front");

         }

     }

}

Please format your code. If you don't know how, watch the tutorial video on the right

Have you added the script to some object in the scene? Does the animation exist ? Do you get any errors or warnings?

Yes, I added it to the actual character. and the animation exists and its been tested directly. No Errors. Just the tiled GPU perf. warning that its unrelated.

Try changing line 15 to .. if (hit.collider.name == "targethit")
