My Javascript variables are not visible in the inspector

I have a problem. I don’t know if it’s a Unity bug, or if I’m going crazy, but if I declare a variable in JS the variable cannot be seen in the inspector. Here’s an example of some code:

#pragma strict

function Start () {
	var myNumber : float;
}

function Update () {

}

I have this script set on my Main Camera, but the variable myNumber cannot be seen or edited at all in the inspector.

buddy. Your variable is out of scope if you declare it in the Start() function…

take your variable…

var myNumber : float;

out of function Start() {} and place it above it, like so…

    #pragma strict

    var myNumber : float;

    function Start ()
    {

    }

    function Update ()
    {

    }

You will then see the variable available to you in your inspector panel.

Hope thats helped you… If so, mark it as an answer, if you can, to help others who might have the same dilemma.
