Template.exe error

Hi guys, I'm trying out my first Windows Store app and facing a compilation problem. Basically I have Unity 4.3.2 installed, start a new empty project and then switch to Windows Store and build. However when I try to debug the solution in VS 2012 I get the following error

  • first chance exception of type 'System.IO.FileNotFoundException' occurred in Template.exe An exception of type 'System.IO.FileNotFoundException' occurred in Template.exe but was not handled in user code Additional information: The specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)*

I switched SDK version to 8.1 and installed VS2013 but I'm getting the same error again. And yes, I already have both SDK versions installed.

Anyone know what the problem is here?

No,I wasn't able to fix the issue. Dropped the idea of developing for windows.

Hi!

I had a similar problems and it was due to the fact that I was using Windows 8.1 N edition which does not have $$anonymous$$edia functionality. You need to download and apply it as a patch. After installing the patch my Windows Store debugging was successful.

It was mentioned here: link text

I hope this helps!

Actually this is exactly what I thought the bug was too. I am running Windows Server 2012r2 and saw that link randomly while trying to fix this problem. That patch obviously will not work for my system so I tried to unsuccessfully apply an equivalent patch (patch isn't confinguring correctly). Now that I know 100% that is the solution I'll continue to try and get that patch working. Thanks!!!!!

So I reinstalled Windows Server 2012r2 from scratch and installed the media patch as well as any of its pre-requested features. Still get the template error... I am using VS2013Professional and running 4770$$anonymous$$ with no other GPU. I have tried to build for both Windows 8.0 and 8.1. I have tried both XA$$anonymous$$L and D3D11 builds as well as C++ and C# versions. I always re-target the project to x86 (or for win8.0 its Win32) and build it as a $$anonymous$$aster build. The first error always occurs in the App() function on the line initializing the appCallBacks. All scripts are written using javascript. Anyone else have any other idea's of what I could be missing?

I found the solution. You need to install the audio dlls:

This mostly worked for me. I still have some issues left to debug but i definitely think this was the problem or at the very least part of the problem. Thanks!!! I tried to upvote your answer but it says i need at least 15rep :(
