Instantiate in C#?

I'm trying to create a new gameobject and then add a force to it's rigidbody. I followed the example in the reference but it somehow doesnt work. I always get the error: "Cannot cast from source type to destination type." (The instantiate line)

void Shoot() {

Rigidbody Bullet = (Rigidbody) Instantiate (Munitionstyp,Hilfsvektor,Austrittspunkt.rotation); Bullet.AddForce(Austrittspunkt.forward * Bulletspeed);

}

Are you sure $$anonymous$$unitionstyp has a Rigidbody attached, and it's not being destroyed by some other code?

At last, I could solve the problem. I could do whatever I want, I had to restart Unity. A really unhandy method to solve script problems but it worked

Im not sure, im usually using javascript, and maybe im totally wrong, but this might work?

void Shoot()
{
Rigidbody Bullet;
Bullet = Instantiate (Munitionstyp,Hilfsvektor,Austrittspunkt.rotation);
Bullet.AddForce(Austrittspunkt.forward * Bulletspeed);
}

I've already tried this version but it didn't work. The mysterious thing is, the object appears for a really short period of time but then disappears :/

Since i think this is a script for a players weapon: did you set the rigidbody to ignore the players collision mesh? otherwise it might just collide with the player himself and then, depending on how you scripted it, destroy.
