Frosted glass effect

Hi. I want to make a window in a 3D game with an effect equal to the "Frost" option in colorful. Example. I am unsure of how to do this.

There exists a big bunch of documentation of that. Note that you need the pro version to do this.

Isn't render to texture really inefficient?

RT's are there for a reason, but the Image Effects are another aspect of the Pro license. Do you want a full-screen frost or per-object/material frost?

Render a transparent quad.

Use a normal map and refract the image rendered to the quad.

There are plenty of refraction/reflection/distortion/glass/frost effects shader examples out there. That would be the way to do it

I don't know if your shader access is limited in the free version of unity. If it isn't there is no reason why you couldn't do this.
