Sound Problem with Macs

So working on a school project and build after build after build we have been plagued with the same issue. Namely that while I, and everyone with Windows, can hear all the sounds/music I've been implementing but people on macs have varying success as to whether the sounds play. The problem is that sometimes sounds will not play at all for mac users and it seems random as to what sounds they are. Granted I have a very small sample size, that being one teammate who it works for and my teacher who is the one having the issues. I've tried different file formats, different encoding/storage, can't seem to resolve it.

Are there known issues to getting Unity builds to work soundwise on Apple products? Whether or not there is is there a potential workaround?
