Texture import and animation problems

Hi there

I'm having problems with my animations and textures.

I've read up on the subject and know that the best way to move models and their animations from 3DS Max to Unity is via a .FBX file. However, my textures do not load properly within Unity, the texture designed as the UVW for the body being put onto parts of the hair as well, with no option of changing it.

The only export format which doesn't do that is the .3DS file, which obviously doesn't include the animation information. The way I found to export animation from 3DS puts it into a format not supported by Unity.

I was wondering if there was a way to separate the animation file from an imported .FBX file within Unity and apply it to my .3DS file? Or if there is a different way of exporting the animation from 3DS Max? Or anything other solutions you can think of. Thank you very much for your help!

//found a work around for the problem. Re mapped the textures in 3DS. Still not sure what caused the problem in the first place (something to do with how I joined the models/The rotation of a texture perhaps?)
