Can't get GPS data on Windows Phone

I use this code to get the postion of the device, but both the WP8 simlator and on a real device it says that gps is disabled, although it's active. Any idea what's wrong?

 void Start()
     {
         Input.location.Start (10f);
     }
 
     void OnGUI()
     {
         if (Input.location.isEnabledByUser) 
         {
             GUILayout.Label("GPS is enabled");
 
             GUILayout.Label ("Latitude: " + Input.location.lastData.latitude);
             GUILayout.Label ("Lonitude: " + Input.location.lastData.latitude);
         }
         else 
         {
             GUILayout.Label("GPS is disabled");
         }
         GUILayout.Label ("Status: " + Input.location.status);
     }

You have to check the capabilities ID_CAP_LOCATION in the WMAppManifest.xml under Properties in your Visual Studio project.

But even doing that, I keep having Input.location.isEnabledByUser set to false.

The localisation service is active in my phone parameters

Hi, I have the same problem on the Windows Phone 8.1, Input.location.isEnabledByUser it return false and the status is failed. Any idea how to fix this, maybe throw Visual Studio?

Managed to solve this for Windows Phone 8.1 apps. WP 8 doesn't seem to have full support for this and is deprecated.

First, ensure Location settings are enabled on your device.

Then go the Player Settings, in the Unity Editor and select Windows Store App. Then go to Publishing Settings, scroll to the bottom and go to Capabilities. Check the box next to Location.

Next time you build and run your app on the device, it should give you a prompt about whether you give permission to use Location services. Press yes and you should now have it functioning!
