Why rotate 500 degrees and not 140? Check this question out http://answers.unity3d.com/questions/232758/rotate-object-on-mouse-click.html Also, do a quick search on this site, I'm sure others have had the same issue as you do

Thanks, but I've literally tried all of these codes on this site but they won't do the trick.

Click to rotate has been covered a thousand times. At the very least, show what you have tried and if you want to rotate it on a particular axis.

This is the only thing that seemed to work.

 using UnityEngine;
 using System.Collections;

 public class Rotation : $$anonymous$$onoBehaviour {
     void Update() {
         transform.Rotate(new Vector3(0,0,-500) * Time.deltaTime);
     }
 }

I've tried something before with viod On$$anonymous$$ouseDown(0) but that meant I had to keep the left mouse button pressed in order to rotate the object.

I'm a very new student in this so sorry for the inexperience and bad english.

Create a bool that is set to true when the mouse button is clicked, and then in update do

 if(myBool) {
 // rotate code
 }

Add this script to your plane: using UnityEngine; using System.Collections;

 public class MyRotateOnClick : MonoBehaviour {

     public bool startRotationFlag;

     void Update () {

         if(startRotationFlag){
             this.transform.Rotate ( new Vector3(45,0,0) * Time.deltaTime );
         }

     }

     void OnMouseUp()
     {
         startRotationFlag = true;
     }
 }

Hi this only rotates when I check the "Start rotation flag" box that appears in the inspector but not when I click the object.

On$$anonymous$$ouseUp sets the flag to true; you could also do

 startRotationFlag = !startRotationFlag

to make it toggle

Did you try clicking it several times?

Add a mesh (or box) collider to the plane...
