Animating for a 60fps target?

I have a question in regards to animation frames and FPS performance in Unity:

If you're wanting your game to run at a fixed 60fps, how does this influence the length of frames for your animations? So for example, when animating a walk cycle, would you want to increase it's length in Blender to 60 frames instead of 30 frames or 24 frames?

I've been learning animation in relation to digital film not video game performance so I'm a little confused about how Blender runs the animations compared to how Unity will.

Yes, increase it to 60 to have an easy 'cycle per second' metric to work from. This is obviously subjective, there's nothing wrong with setting it to 30 and work knowing it's a 2fer.
