trouble with disabling smoothfollow

Hi all. I'm trying to disable SmoothFollow script on main camera in my game. Here's the code:

 GameObject obj;
 obj = GameObject.FindGameObjectWithTag("MainCamera");
 obj.GetComponent<SmoothFollow>().enabled = false;

debuger gets error at last string of code: "Object reference not set to an instance of an object", although i actually have camera with such tag and such script. What could be the problem?

If the object is already on scene and not a prefab, you could type public SmoothFollow followScript, then instead type smoothFollow.SetActive(false) to turn it off, and true to well... turn it back on. Once you save the code DRAG AND DROP the script you are trying to assign into the inspector wimdow of the script youll be turning it off with.

Crap... just noticed java...

The method is the same to get the end goal. SetActive is useful.

As it turned out: there's a lack of interaction between java and c# scripts and that was root of my issue. i solved my problem by replacing SmoothFollow.js with the similar c# script .
