Question by zpunehx · Apr 04, 2014 at 06:14 PM · c#rtsvector3.position

objects move to the same point

i have this movement script. but i am facing a problem at the moment. the first one is that the objects move to the same point. i want to be able to move different objects towards different positions. this script is attached to my moveable game objects. i have a tank and a truck. i want a way to be able to distinguish between them so when i select either of them they don't move to the same point. i also can recruit multiple ones. any help is appreciated. below is my script:

using UnityEngine; using System.Collections;

public class ObjectMovement : MonoBehaviour {

 private RaycastHit hit;
 private bool posLocated;
 private Ray movementRay;
 private Vector3 position;

 private void Update () {
     if (Input.GetMouseButtonDown (1)) {
         LocatePosition ();
         posLocated = true;
     }
     if (posLocated) {
         MoveUnitToPosition ();
     }
 }

 private void LocatePosition() {
     movementRay = Camera.main.ScreenPointToRay (Input.mousePosition);

     if (Physics.Raycast (movementRay, out hit)) {
         position = new Vector3(hit.point.x,hit.point.y,hit.point.z);
     }
 }

 private void MoveUnitToPosition() {
     if (Vector3.Distance (transform.position, hit.point)>10.0f) {
         Quaternion newRotation = Quaternion.LookRotation (position - transform.position);
         transform.rotation = Quaternion.Slerp (transform.rotation, newRotation, Time.deltaTime * 10);
         newRotation.x = 0.0f;
         newRotation.z = 0.0f;
         transform.position = Vector3.Lerp (transform.position,position, Time.deltaTime * 0.5f);
     }
 }

}
