I tried to install an .apk to Nexus 7 2012(the 1st one) and all i get is “App not installed”. I can’t change the device filter to anything else
- Check the bundle indefier name should be com.CompanyName.ProductName as said above.
- You have also ticked from the phone you can install from the unknown sources?
Try changing write permissions, or check for the write permission in your device.
The Nexus 7 is running on the Android OS. If you want to install vendor applications on your tablet, you need to install APK (Android Package files) files. Here is a simple step-by-step instruction for manually installing**.APK** Files on Nexus 7 through the Google Play Market.
- Connect your Nexus 7 to the computer via USB, copy them .APK file you want to install to your tablet’s internal memory.
- Touch Google Play app on Home screen. In the Android Market, search for the Apps Installer, App Installer, z-App Installer or Fast Installer application.Select one of them and tap the install button.
- After the installation is finished, the app will display the APK files. Tap on it to start installing.
I was facing this very same problem and tried every single solution you could find. I noticed that a fresh build would install correctly but once I removed it and try installing it again it failed. Then I noticed that with every new build I tested, Google Play protect warned me that the app might be dangerous. When I run out of solutions I decided to try this one, that ended up working:
1- Go to the Play Store app.
2- Open de hamburger menu at the top-left corner
3- Go under Play Protect Option
4- Uncheck “Scan device for security threats”
5- Be happy again!
Hope this helps. I suppose that once you upload and or register your app to the PlaySotre and Play Protect, this wil no longer be an issue.
