The Nexus 7 is running on the Android OS. If you want to install vendor applications on your tablet, you need to install AP$$anonymous$$ (Android Package files) files. Here is a simple step-by-step instruction for manually installing*.AP$$anonymous$$* Files on Nexus 7 through the Google Play $$anonymous$$arket.

  • Connect your Nexus 7 to the computer via USB, copy them .AP$$anonymous$$ file you want to install to your tablet's internal memory.

  • Touch Google Play app on Home screen. In the Android $$anonymous$$arket, search for the Apps Installer, App Installer, z-App Installer or Fast Installer application.Select one of them and tap the install button.

  • After the installation is finished, the app will display the AP$$anonymous$$ files. Tap on it to start installing.

I was facing this very same problem and tried every single solution you could find. I noticed that a fresh build would install correctly but once I removed it and try installing it again it failed. Then I noticed that with every new build I tested, Google Play protect warned me that the app might be dangerous. When I run out of solutions I decided to try this one, that ended up working:

1- Go to the Play Store app. 2- Open de hamburger menu at the top-left corner 3- Go under Play Protect Option 4- Uncheck "Scan device for security threats" 5- Be happy again!

Hope this helps. I suppose that once you upload and or register your app to the PlaySotre and Play Protect, this wil no longer be an issue.

Try changing write permissions, or check for the write permission in your device.

  1. Check the bundle indefier name should be com.CompanyName.ProductName as said above.

  2. You have also ticked from the phone you can install from the unknown sources?

i renamed the identifier to com.drunk.runner, but still no luck, could it be that i can't install from unknown sources if i'm not on the "owner" user of the tablet? it's ticked that i can but the entier option is greyed out, not sure what to make of it
