GUI texture follow game object for lock-on enemy

I really don't know how to do this. I looked for some tutorials in the internet but I can't understand the ones that I found. I just wanted a lock-on gui like the gui on megaman legends. Help guuuuuys T-T

You can either make:

 void OnGUI() {
         Vector3 position = Camera.main.WorldToScreenPoint(target.position);
 
         GUI.DrawTexture(new Rect(position.x, position.y, 50,50), lockImage);
     }

Or you direktly Instantiate a Plane with this texture at the enemies Position facing to the camera

how am I going to assign the target and the GUI texture that I'm going to use? Sorry. I'm a beginner. >.<
