hit.normal && Camera Controls

Hello everyone! Needing help on some camera control issues when i'm aligning my character to a raycasthit's hit.normal.

It seems as though when the character is aligned to the hit.normal, it cannot rotate along its y axis anymore, meaning i cannot use the camera look's x axis to move the camera to look around a bit. Is there any way i can fix this?!

Steps taken:

//

Take player, Take Planet.

Raycast down from player, hit planet.

Align play with: transform.rotation = Quaternion.FromToRotation(Vector3.up, hit.normal); to planet's surface.

Move player around with wasd keys.

Attach camera script and assign rotationaxis to mouseX. (PROBLEM!!!!)

//

The camera will not move, it only moves my character a little to the left and a little to the right when i move my mouse.

Is there a fix out there?

I am not sure what exactly to search on google for my issue but i've tried a bunch of, "Camera control with hit.normal unity3d" and etc. Still got no results.

//

Please help! You guys are my last resort!

//

Sincerely, Bakos

The rest of your source code would be helpful. You want your 'mouseX' rotation to be applied after the alignment, and you want to rotate around the transform.up of the object, not Vector3.up (which should also be hit.normal).
