cannot convert .blend to FBX file. Why?

Blender cannot convert .blend files to fbx files. What am I doing wrong? What can I do to fix this? My blender version is 2.69.

You should be able to simply open the project in Blender, then select File -> Export -> AutoDesk FBX (.fbx) ... then you'll tweak the export settings how you want them, give it a filename and a location to save it, and save it.

This isn't a question directly about Unity, though, so it really shouldn't be posted here. I'm going to close the topic because of this reason.

Try using Autodesk's FBX converter. It's an external tool to convert to FBX.
