Question by JayFitz91 · Jul 07, 2014 at 03:02 PM · androidbuild-error

Android build error: Error building player

I have my nexus 7 connected to Unity and it has recognised the device no problem but just as it finishes building I get this error:

 Error building Player: Win32Exception: ApplicationName='C:/Users/Jay/Documents/adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140624/sdk\tools\zipalign.exe', CommandLine='4 "C:\Users\Jay\Documents\project-blank\Temp/StagingArea/Package_unaligned.apk" "C:\Users\Jay\Documents\project-blank\Temp/StagingArea/Package.apk"', CurrentDirectory='Temp/StagingArea'

Has anyone seen this error before and if so, how do I get around it?

Is Unity actually in Android mode? Got Android SD$$anonymous$$ installed? Also, are you in debug mode?

Well I've set it up for the android platform, I have the SD$$anonymous$$ installed and the required packages installed. It was working only 3 days ago, haven't looked at it since and now it's giving me this error. I'm not in debug mode no

Then have you signed your package? Debug mode signs it with a Debug key.

It halts on Align, so my first guess is no $$anonymous$$ey.

Yeah, I've created a new keystore and set my alias, it asks for my passwords when i go to build, I put them in but I still get the same error. I don't understand why it was working a few days ago but not now :/

Finally found the error, i had re-downloaded the android SDK, the zipalign.exe was moved from sdk/tools to sdk/build-tools.

I simply copied the zipalign.exe into the library of sdk/tools and tried to build the project again, worked a charm.

Hope it helps anyone with the same problem!

The issue is not with the SD$$anonymous$$, but with Unity. Since 4.5.2 this is fixed, simply get the latest version of Unity.
